NEWS FLASH for fans of the mysterious singer-songwriter Bill Fox, who I profiled in THE BELIEVER magazine last year: His now-legendary 1990s albums are going to be reissued on CD and vinyl later this year by Robert Griffin at Scat Records in St. Louis, Missouri. Per Robert's news release of April 3:

I spoke with Bill Fox yesterday, and we have agreed to reissue his two mid-90s solo albums, Shelter from the Smoke and Transit Byzantium. If you've been trying to get copies of either of these I know your wallet just sighed with relief. Even better, we'll be issuing both on vinyl (a first) as well as cd. I hope to have at least one of them out by the end of the year.

Unfortunately, THE BELIEVER has long since sold out of the issue in which the Bill Fox story ("Transit Byzantium") appeared. BUT! If you're really desperate, email me at joe_hagan at hotmail dot com.
